In addition to its organic development, IMV Technologies has been expanding its portfolio of activities and services through highly targeted acquisitions of either complementary businesses such as insemination endoscopy equipment (Herritech – 2015), ultrasound imaging (BCF & ECM - 2017), Swine Post Cervical AI (Tecnovet - 2020), technologies such as fish egg selection (GenetiRate - 2021)  or manufacturing to strengthen the core business regionalization / localization such as the China Nelson Factory (2015).

 

The growth ambition is strong, aiming for a turnover of €200m within 5 years and a continuously improved high level of profitability. To ensure its scalability and strengthen its process and organisation, the group has initiated different transformation programs in commercial efficiency, supply chain, quality and finance & IT systems. To support the growth and these transformations, a specific focus is done on Lean to build the IMV Business System (IBS) and HR to set up a global HR strategy.

 

The Group started its fourth LBO in 2021 with Montagu Private Equity, that took over from Qualium Investissement, which was shareholder since 2014. More than 80% of the Group's managers are shareholders and hold about 15% of the capital.

 

The Group's Management Committee has been chaired by Alain de Lambilly since January 2020. The Position

 

Title: Global Aquaculture Field Application Scientist

·        Part of the global Commercial organisation, in the Field Application team with strong links and common goals with Marketing and R&D organisations.

Position Summary and Key accountabilities

 

IMV Technologies is looking for a Global Aqua Field Application Scientist, motivated by being the scientific reference in the field of Aquaculture reproduction biotechnologies. The goal is to support both Marketing, Sales and R&D for demonstrating our products value and biological impact in the aquaculture range.

 

Within the Field Application team, the Global Aquaculture Field Application Scientist is responsible for Aquaculture species:

-         For delivering pre and post-sales support by providing biological support and innovative training in Reproductive biotechnologies (particularly semen cryopreservation, ultrasound scanning and egg sorting)

-        For conducting field trials for validating R&D products that meets internal field trial procedure and industry best practice

-        A continuous support for Sales, R&D and marketing teams and occasionally, Customer Care, Quality and Technical Service.

-        Designing protocols and supervising and conducting trials in the laboratory, or in broodstock farms for R&D field trials. It also includes conducting statistical analyses, writing scientific publications and vulgarized reports, and participating in decisions about the continuation of projects. The position works closely with R&D and Marketing Project Managers to validate product launches and during the different phases of a project.

-        Propose relevant improvements or new products to Marketing and R&D.

-        Conduct and supervise field trials worldwide.

-        Provide accurate information, resolving customer issues promptly.

-        Deliver training to customers and to collaborators.

-        Stay informed about the market, new products and customers inquiries.

-        Work and prioritize requests autonomously to meet annual objectives and deadlines.

-        Ensure an excellent company brand image and personal safety.

-        Contribute to the continuous improvement of field application processes.

 

The Person

 

-        Nationality: Open

-        Languages: Fluent English is mandatory

-        A PhD or Veterinary qualification

-        Experience in the field of aquaculture reproduction or nutrition.

 

Previous Experience and skills

-        Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in R&D positions

-        In-depth knowledge of salmonid reproduction or nutrition

-        Experience in field trial experimental design and data analyses

 

Bonus or preferred

-        Experience in troubleshooting and demonstration or equipment installation

-        Spanish language skills
